Virginia with Peter and other older teens from our parish and make a difference in the lives of others. This week is spend doing work in a specifically defined area and under supervision of the Project Applalachia personnel. Project Appalachia is a church based support program that seeks volunteers from parish throughout the country to come and spend a week working to make the lives of others a little better. During the past two summers teens from OLM have help construct a front porch on a home and also helped on a water project to bring fresh water into a home. 2006 - 2007 CONFIRMATION SESSIONS High School Students A two year program that culminates in the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation in the fall of Junior year. The program is composed of three major components:
Each candidate is required to do 20 hours of church service as a sign of their growing commitment to the OLM Church community. Confirmation preparation is parish based in the Diocese of Paterson. All high school students in public and Catholic or private high schools are invited to join this program. ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR CONFIRMATION STUDENTS 2006-2007 school year FIRST YEAR CANDIDATES: ALL Class sessions for our First Year Candidates are concluded for the year. ANY SERVICE HOURS COMPLETED THIS YEAR CAN BE TURN IN AT ANY TIME....REMEMBER 20 HOURS OF SERVICE TO BE DONE DURING THE ENTIRE TWO-YEAR CONFIRMATION PROGRAM. REMINDER TO RE-REGISTER FOR THE CONFIRMATION PROGRAM THAT BEGINS IN OCTOBER. RETURN THE BLUE REGISTRATION FORM MAILED OUT IN MARCH ANY FIRST YEAR CANDIDATE WHO DID NOT RETURN .... A Retreat verification forms for those who made a first year retreat else where were due May 1st. Please return the from to the Parish House as soon as possible. No candidate will be advanced to second year unless this form is received in the parish office.
