Pentecost
Sunday 2003 marked a new step in the history of Our Lady of
the Magnificat Parish. After several months of evaluation,
listening and deciding, nine names were chosen from those
nominated to be members of the first Parish Council of OLM.
The parish council serves as an advisory board to the pastor.
The mission of the council is summed up on seven elements:
Evangelization, Worship, Word, Community, Service,
Stewardship, and leadership. There are seven elements
able to see where OLM parish should be in the future.
The members are challenged to look at the present ministries,
projects, concerns and see how effective they are and what
the future shape of the parish will be like.
The
members of the council will serve terms of varying lengths.
At the first meeting of the council on October 4, 2003 the
length of each members service was determined by lottery.

The
following members of the parish council will serve a three
year term:
ANDY
BONIFACE --- ELLEN SHARKEY --- JOE WICKHAM
Those
chosen to server a two year term are:
FRANCISCO
PINI --- MICHAEL MCLOUGHLIN -- ROBERT STACK
Those
who will serve a one year term are:
LISA
HILLS, CANDICE BIERMAN --- BILL SHARKEY
In
addition to the nine elected members of the council, Msgr.
Carroll and the professional staff: Msgr. Goode, Sr.
Ellen O'Conner, Mr. Michael Pierce, and Mrs. Judith Clayton
are ex officio members, as well as Mr. Ted Howard, president
of the parish finance board.
Meetings will be held 3-4 times per year and the minutes can be read when posted on this web site.
